Get ready because it's honeymoon time! Once the wedding is over, do you know where you're going?
Paris is a known as the City for Lovers, however you can expect to pay an arm and a leg for a honeymoon in France. Tropical destinations like Fiji and Tahiti are honeymoon hot-spots which are loaded with tourist traps and insane resort fees.
You can travel all over the world for your honeymoon, but there's a ton of great honeymooning spots right here in our own backyard!
Honeymooning in the United States can be just as memorable as traveling abroad, but will save the happy couple thousands of dollars! So let's get packing!
St. Augustine, Florida
Love history and culture? Then you'll love honeymooning in the country's oldest continuously occupied European established city.
Enjoy your stay at one of their beautiful Victorian Bed and Breakfasts, visit their famous San Sebastian Winery, or have diner at my personal favorite romantic restaurant, Collage.
Things to keep in mind:
- St. Augustine is located in the sunshine state. Prepare for warm, tropical weather.
- Plan an itinerary. If you want to see all the sites, you're going to need to be organized.
- Put money aside in your budget for souvenirs, you're going to need it!
Aspen, Colorado
If you plan on honeymooning during fall or winter, Aspen, Colorado might be perfect for you.
Stay at one of the many lavish ski resort nestled in the heart of Aspen, just walking distance from exquisite shops and eateries. Looking for more privacy? Rent your very own private log cabin in the snow-covered forest. What could be more romantic?
There are so many things to do in Aspen! The newlyweds can snuggle up together in front of the beautiful brick fireplace at the Grand Hyatt, escape the cold in a steamy hot tub, or visit one of the many 4-star restaurants. Don't forget to hit the slopes!
Napa Valley, California
Napa Valley is truly one of the most beautiful destinations in the United States.
Beautiful vineyards amongst rolling hills makes for a very romantic backdrop for your honeymoon.
There's many different things you can do in Napa Valley.
Enjoy a romantic wine tasting and dinner aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train. Have an afternoon picnic at a vineyard in the country, or even go on a hot air balloon ride!
No matter what you do, you and your spouse are bound to have an amazing time here. You'll never want to leave!
Key West, Florida
Want to feel like you're in Fiji or Tahiti without having to fly across the world? Then Key West, Florida is your tropical lovers' paradise!
While you're in Key West, there's no worry about what you're going to be doing all day. It's time to sit back on a big comfy lounger and bathe in the sun! Snorkling? Don't mind if I do! Sunset dinner cruise? Fine by me! How about swimming with the dolphins?
The food's not bad too bad either! Check out Blue Heaven or Roof Top Cafe for some out of this world seafood straight from the Caribbean or Prime Steakhouse of the juiciest steak you'll ever eat!
Head down to sandy warm beaches of Key West and your honeymoon will feel like it came right out of a Jimmy Buffett song!
Savannah, Georgia
Savannah, Georgia has a long history, rich culture, amazing architecture, and a hip nightlife, not to mention fabulous food! Sound like a fun time to you?
There's tons of great things to do in Savannah, including frequent music festivals, the famous tour of homes, and the famous tree-covered walkways.
The nightlife in Savannah is smoking hot with a slew of fantastic fine-dining restaurants including Ele Fine Fushion, an artistic fusion of Asian American fare, or head out for drinks at one of the many funky clubs in the area!
Whether you're interested in the history of the city or it's nightlife, Savannah, Georgia will certainly show the newlyweds some Southern Hospitality.
Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts
Martha's Vineyard, an Island off the South of Cape Cod in New England, is one of the most sought-after and luxurious destinations on the East Coast. Six individual and historic towns are nestled in Martha's Vineyard, including beautiful Edgartown.
